Validation

Does Address Validation iO also validate orders made via express checkout (e.g. PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay)?

Yes! After the order has been made through any express checkout, customers will be redirected to Shopify's order status page. Address Validation iO will show a warning about a wrong address on that page. Additionally, an email notification will be sent to the customer.

Why is address validation done after checkout?

Validation during checkout would only be available for Shopify Plus customers. To make our app accessible to all, validation is done after checkout.

Isn't Google Autocomplete enough?

Unfortunately, enabling Shopify's Google Autocomplete won't validate the address entered. While it helps the customer filling out the form, the result may still be an invalid address (e.g. a missing house number). Address Validation iO complements Google Autocomplete by validating the address.

How reliable is the address validation of Address Validation iO?

As reliable as it gets! Our address pool is fed and constantly updated by multiple sources. Addresses are validated against a world-wide database, spanning over 250 countries and territories. Try us out, you won't be disappointed!

Billing

How does the billing work?

Depending on which plan you’ve chosen, you either have 250, 1500 or 3000 address validation lookups included. Every additional lookup will, again depending on your chosen plan, cost between 0.035$ and 0.040$. The monthly fee plus possibly additional lookups will be charged every month. You can set a limit for the additional usage charge.

What will be charged for?

Every order, even if the address is valid or has been validated before. Hint: The Pro and the Business Plan also allows you to validate billing address. In that case both the validation of the shipping and the billing address will be charged separately.

Will I get charged for correct addresses?

Yes, since the address has to be sent to our data provider for validation.

Do I need a Shopify Plus account to use this app?

No. Our main goal was, to create Address Validation iO in a way every merchant can use it.

Can I test the app first?

Sure, we're offering a 7 day test trial!

What does the trial include?

Within the first 7 days you will have up to 750 address validations for free. The amount depends on your chosen plan: Starter: 250 validations / Business: 500 validations / Pro: 750 validations. Did you reach your free look-ups in less than 7 days, the trial will end. Good work, your store is performing great!

The banner on the order status page does not load/loads very slowly. What is the reason?

The banner on the order status page may appear delayed due to the store’s performance. The store can be slowed down by the following factors: - Post purchase apps that slow down the order status page - Shopify does not always provide the same server performance which may not be sufficient in some cases
